WE ARE
AMAZING!

In our class we celebrate how amazing we are everyday!
We earn Class dojo points for : being kind to others, helping, participating, working as a team, speaking Welsh or Spanish and good listening.

Every Friday the person with the most Dojo points gets to choose a prize from our goodie bag!!

IN OUR CLASS WE RECOGNISE WHEN SOMEBODY HAD DONE SOMETHING NICE FOR US.  OUR SHOUT OUR WALL GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE THANK YOU POST-ITS TO OUR FRIENDS.

Animal encounters 

We were super lucky the have spent some time with a range of different creatures and find out lots of informations about them. Thank you Animal Encounters!

Coronation celebrations

All things Easter

We went on a hunt around the school to find Easter eggs filled with symbols from the Easter story. We discussed each symbol and what part of the story it was.  Once all the eggs were found we put them in order of the story .
Eggsperiments
We conducted experiments on putting eggs in different filled jars.  We used non brewed vinegar, orange juice, white vinegar, cold water and hot water.  We left them for 24 hours to see what changes happened.  We made predictions about whether the shell would change or the egg would become bouncy.  We recorded the eggs over night to see what happened.  Take a look at the photos and the videos below.

As part of British Science week we had lots of fun carrying out experiments.  This tied in perfectly with our topic Mad Scientist!

World 
book
​day
To celebrate World Book Day we teamed up with Reception class to have a ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’.  We had lots of fun in the hall making sandwiches, eating biscuits and most important of all - sharing stories.
We listened to a bedtime story read by Ed Sheeran on the giant screen while we ate our snacks in our pjs.  After our delicious snacks we teamed up with a child from Reception to read to them.  We had lots of fun!
Super Sporting Stars
On Safer Internet Day we started by talking about how many different devices have the internet connected to them.  We were surprised by how many there were!!!
We then had the modern version of Goldilocks. Which is about a girl who posts photos to her social media to try and get more friends. We talked about all the dangers she faced and what things she did wrong.  We then created posters to help people stay safe online.
We watched a video showing us how to stay safe when gaming online.

WELLBEING

We are so lucky in our class to have visits from Joey and Otto, our school dogs!  We get to take them on walks outside and enjoy giving them lots of strokes/cuddles which always puts smiles on our faces.

Our sessions with Goalgetters are based around 1v1, 2v1 domination, skill acquisition and confidence building.  We enjoy weekly sessions with Goalgetters in groups, we use our astroturf and school hall to complete our training.  Click the link below to find out more about Goalgetters.

MIndfulness

Everyday after lunch we have dedicated mindfulness sessions.  During this time we either take part in meditation, breathing exercises, relaxation or sharing our thoughts through growth mindset.

We have been very busy during Autumn Term! 
We have been attending Goalgetters sessions every week improving our fitness during school time practising our football skills and scoring impressive goals!

We have been attending singing and acting sessions with Mrs D. singing our little hearts out and our Christmas concert rehearsals are well underway.... 

 Remembrance Day
We have been learning about and celebrating Remembrance Day. We learnt about what the different coloured poppies represent and created our own poppies using different materials writing messages of thanks. Some of our work made it onto our school display! We joined the school and showing respect with a two minute silence.
