Your child is currently using Lexia Core 5 in school to support his/her literacy skills and receives lessons for an allocated number of minutes depending on their ability (between 40-80 mins per week). In addition, we have also paid for them to access Lexia Core 5 at home (at £25.00 per pupil per month). We are extremely fortunate to have this wonderful learning resource at our school and pupils who regularly access Lexia Core 5 have made significant improvement in their understanding of many basic and challenging reading skills.
However, after recently reviewing whole school usage we have identified many pupils who are not able to take advantage of this extra aid to improve or develop their literacy skills.
We realise that many homes may not have access to the internet or may not have a lap top, iPad or tablet. Therefore in order to provide additional support to pupils who are not able to access Lexia at home or those who need guidance (if they have a red apple), we shall be holding a ‘Breakfast Lexia Club’ every morning before school.
Lexia Club will be run by Mr J. Cousins in the small hall
Will start at 8.15 – 8.45 (pupils will be supervised at all times and go directly into class from Lexia club
Pupils who already go to ‘Breakfast club’ can transfer across to ‘Lexia club’
We have limited places available so please return your slip to class on Monday (first come). Should we be oversubscribed we will put names on a waiting list
Well done to the children that attended the first week of Lexia Club. So many units were completed. A fantastic effort.
Da iawn, to all the pupils attending Lexia Club. The pupils have done so many units this week.
Well done all!
Lexia Club has started again after the Christmas Holidays. A big thank you to the children that turn up all the time. Hopefully this term we can send out letters for new children to attend.
